From our clones to your home. From bio-tech to the breakfast table. Here’s everything you’re wondering about how we make such great milk.
What is cloning?
Cloning is a lab-based reproductive method, also known as somatic-cell nuclear transfer.
Isn’t cloning science fiction?
Cloning isn’t Hollywood’s black & white vision of mad scientists tinkering with nature. Today, it’s trained scientists improving on nature.
Are all your cows really clones?
Many are, but a large number are also the progeny of cloned bulls.
Is cloning genetic modification?
Cloning simply entails transferring the nucleus of an adult cell into an egg cell that’s been cleansed of genetic material. The blastocyst is then implanted into a surrogate mother’s uterus. No genetic modification occurs.
Can you taste the difference between milk from clones and milk from “conventional” cows?
We think ours tastes as good or better – find out for yourself!
Are there any ethical issues about cloning?
No.
Will you be making other foods with cloned milk?
Yes! Be on the lookout for sour cream, butter, half-and-half, gourmet beef, baby formula, and much more!
